  • The Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch also know as a Cable Puller is a portable wire rope winch for pulling, lifting, lowering and securing loads. Supplied with an extendable operating handle, it provides a portable option for tasks requiring load movement or positioning. The unit has a black painted finish and incorporates overload protection to support operator safety. Correct functioning requires specially manufactured wire rope; other wire rope must not be assumed compatible.

The Viper winch meets the working load limit (WLL) performance requirements of BS EN 13157 and is marked in accordance with that standard. Its minimum breaking load is four times the WLL, based on the lifting capacity; this breaking-load margin is not an allowable operating load. Select the model by checking its stated capacity against the intended task, and keep lifting loads within its rated WLL. A 2.1 certificate and Declaration of Conformity are available. 20mm diameter available on request.

FAQ About Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch

What is the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch used for?

The GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch is a portable wire rope winch for pulling, lifting, lowering and securing loads. Each unit has a black painted finish, an extendable operating handle and overload protection.

Who should choose the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch?

The GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch is an option for users who need a portable unit to pull, lift, lower or secure loads. Suitability depends on the selected model's rated capacity and the intended task. Correct functioning requires GT specially manufactured wire rope.

Where can the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch be used?

The GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch can be considered wherever a portable unit is needed for pulling, lifting, lowering or securing loads. The supplied specifications do not identify particular operating environments or environmental ratings, so check the manufacturer's instructions for suitability at the intended location.

When should I choose the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch?

Choose the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch when you need a portable unit for pulling, lifting, lowering or securing a load, provided its rated capacity is suitable for the task. It is supplied with an extendable operating handle and must be used with GT specially manufactured wire rope.

Why must the GT Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch use GT wire rope?

Only GT specially manufactured wire rope ensures correct functioning of the Viper Wire Rope Pulling Winch. Do not assume another wire rope is compatible simply because its diameter appears suitable. Confirm the correct GT wire rope for the selected winch model before use.

How do I check which UK legislation applies when using a GT Viper winch and wire rope?

Check current HSE guidance on LOLER and PUWER with the person responsible for workplace lifting safety, taking account of your task and complete winch-and-rope arrangement. Follow the GT operating instructions and confirm that the selected wire rope is suitable for the winch. Do not describe the winch or replacement rope as “LOLER certified” or “PUWER certified”, and do not treat a Declaration of Conformity as confirmation that a particular lifting operation meets every applicable legal requirement.
