- The Tralift Manual Chain Block is a compact, lightweight and robust manual chain hoist for lifting, lowering and suspending loads in industrial, construction, workshop and maintenance applications. Operated by pulling the hand chain, it raises or lowers the load on the separate load chain without electrical or pneumatic power. Designed for professional users, contractors and rental fleets, the Tralift features a corrosion-resistant Corolim® load chain compliant with EN 818-7 and is EN 13157 compliant and TÜV Rheinland certified.
The Tralift hand chain hoist can be suspended from a suitable fixed lifting point or used with a compatible beam trolley when horizontal load travel is required. Choose the correct chain block according to the load weight, lifting height, suspension method, frequency of use and working environment; where lifting is frequent or faster operation is required, an electric or pneumatic chain hoist may be more suitable. For professional workplace use in Great Britain, manual chain hoists fall within applicable LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998 requirements.

It is suited to professional applications including industrial maintenance, construction, workshops, machinery installation and rental fleets, particularly where a compact and portable lifting solution is required.
How do I choose the correct Tralift Manual Chain Hoist?
How do I choose the correct Tralift Manual Chain Hoist?
Choose the Tralift according to the maximum load weight, required lifting height, suspension method, frequency of use and working environment. Also consider whether the load requires vertical lifting only or horizontal travel using a compatible beam trolley. The selected chain block and suspension arrangement must be suitable for the intended load and lifting operation.
Is overload protection available on the Tralift Manual Chain Block?
Is overload protection available on the Tralift Manual Chain Block?
Yes. Optional overload protection is available on request for Tralift Manual Chain Blocks from 0.5t to 20t, according to the supplied product information. Specify the required load capacity, lifting height and intended application when selecting the appropriate chain hoist configuration.
Can the Tralift Manual Chain Block be used with a beam trolley?
Can the Tralift Manual Chain Block be used with a beam trolley?
Yes. The Tralift can be suspended from a suitable fixed lifting point or attached to a compatible mobile beam trolley where horizontal movement of the suspended load is required. What standards and UK regulations are relevant to the Tralift Manual Chain Block?
What standards and UK regulations are relevant to the Tralift Manual Chain Block?
The Tralift is stated as EN 13157 compliant and TÜV Rheinland certified, with a corrosion-resistant Corolim® load chain compliant with EN 818-7. When used as workplace lifting equipment in Great Britain, applicable requirements under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) should also be considered.
Should I choose a manual chain block, electric chain hoist or pneumatic chain hoist?
Should I choose a manual chain block, electric chain hoist or pneumatic chain hoist?
Choose a manual chain block where portable, controlled lifting without an external power supply suits the application. An electric chain hoist may be more appropriate for frequent lifting or where faster powered operation is required, while a pneumatic chain hoist uses compressed air and may suit applications where an appropriate air supply is available. Consider the load, lifting height, frequency of operation, working environment and available power source when choosing between them.
