Blue Pin® Dee Shackles with Screw Collar Pin are high-tensile steel lifting shackles for connecting compatible lifting equipment such as slings and chains. The Grade 6 body and pin are quenched and tempered, then finished with hot-dip galvanising for durable protection. The screw collar pin provides a practical removable connection for lifting and rigging work. Available with working load limits from 0.5t to 55t, each shackle must be selected to suit the load, equipment and complete lifting arrangement.
Blue Pin® Dee Shackles meet the working load limit requirements of EN 13889 and US Federal Specification RR-C 271. They have a minimum breaking load of six times the working load limit and are marked with the CE mark, working load limit, manufacturer’s identification, size and traceability code. The specified operating temperature range is 0°C to +200°C. Never exceed the marked working load limit, and only use the shackle when its capacity, size and configuration are suitable for the intended lift. For lifting equipment used at work in Great Britain, the relevant requirements of LOLER should also be considered for safe use, examination and inspection. PUWER may apply to associated work equipment where relevant. -

What is a Blue Pin® Dee Shackle with Screw Collar Pin?
What is a Blue Pin® Dee Shackle with Screw Collar Pin?
A Blue Pin® Dee Shackle with Screw Collar Pin is a removable-pin lifting connection, also known as a dee shackle, lifting shackle, rigging shackle or screw collar pin shackle. It is designed for professional lifting, rigging, construction, engineering and maintenance users to connect compatible lifting components safely within a suitable arrangement.
Where is this lifting shackle used, and how does it work?
Where is this lifting shackle used, and how does it work?
The Dee shackle is typically used to connect compatible slings, chains and other lifting equipment. The load passes through the shackle body and the screw collar pin closes the connection. Check that the connected components are compatible, correctly seated and aligned before use.
Why choose a removable screw collar pin shackle?
Why choose a removable screw collar pin shackle?
A removable screw collar pin shackle is useful when a lifting connection needs to be assembled and removed repeatedly without using a separate securing nut and bolt. Choose this configuration for compatible lifting and rigging applications where a removable pin is suitable, and ensure the pin is fully engaged before loading.
How do I choose the correct WLL, size and configuration?
How do I choose the correct WLL, size and configuration?
Select a working load limit (WLL) that meets or exceeds the intended load, then choose a shackle size and configuration compatible with the slings, chains and lifting equipment being connected. Consider the complete load path, connection geometry, load direction and working conditions. Never exceed the lowest-rated component or the marked WLL.
What are the construction, WLL and temperature specifications?
What are the construction, WLL and temperature specifications?
The shackle is made from Grade 6 quenched and tempered steel with a hot-dip galvanised finish. WLL options range from 0.5 tonnes to 55 tonnes. The minimum breaking load is six times the WLL, and the stated temperature range is -40°C to +200°C. Always follow the product marking and applicable instructions.
Which standards and UK responsibilities apply?
Which standards and UK responsibilities apply?
The stated coverage is BS EN 13889 from 0.5 tonnes to 25 tonnes and US Federal Specification RR-C-271 Type IVA Class 2 Grade A performance requirements. ASME B30.26 compliance applies from 2 tonnes WLL upwards. LOLER and PUWER relate to the use of lifting equipment and associated work equipment in relevant UK work; they are not product certification. Users must assess their own legal, inspection and safe-use responsibilities.
