Chain Lifting Slings

All lifting chains are manufactured in Grade 8 steel, and come with shortening hooks for loads that need a smaller chain length. When choosing the right rigging chain for you, there are several factors to consider. These include the maximum load to be lifted, the shape of the load to be lifted, the length of chain needed, the number of legs required for the lift, the associated components such as links and hooks, and the angles of the load points. Ideally, when using a multi-leg assembly, all chain angles should be approximately the same, to give a symmetrical lift and therefore avoiding load instability. If the weight of the load to be lifted is not evenly distributed, it is considered to be an asymmetric load, and an assessment from an expert should be sought.

All our lifting chains are proof load tested to 2.5 times working load limit and supplied in a black painted finish. They are suitable for use in a temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius up to 200 degrees Celsius without reduction in working load limit; reductions then apply up to 400 degrees Celsius. At Lifting365, we supply a number of single leg chains in various chain sizes and working load limits. The standard chain length is 1 metre, contact us if you require a longer chain length.

We also supply multi-leg chain slings including double, 3 leg, and 4 leg with a variety of capacities; if you do not need to use all chain legs on a specific lift, hook the unused ones into the top ring to avoid them swinging and potentially causing injury, damage or unintended hooking. All our lifting chains and hooks are tested and certified, so you can be confident that you have a high-quality product for your lifting needs. To ensure that your chain sling is safe and ready for use, store the chains and hooks in a dry place and lightly oil them if out of use for a longer period of time.
